7-Eleven to Close Two Underperforming Wilson Farms Stores

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- 7-Eleven Inc. will close two of the 188 Wilson Farms stores it purchased in April 2011 at the end of this month, according to a Press Republican report. The stores, located in Plattsburgh and Peru, are near the end of their leases.

"They were not going to be part of our long-term strategy because sales were disappointing there," said company spokesperson Margaret Chabris. "We were able to provide some jobs at other stores for just about all of the sales associates and workers at those stores."

Nearby Wilson Farms stores are located in Keeseville, West Chazy, Wilmington, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Most of the chain's stores are in central and western New York.
