AdvancePierre Signs Johnsonville Deal, Launches Sandwich Program

CINCINNATI, Ohio & SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis.-- AdvancePierre Foods formed an exclusive distribution agreement with Johnsonville Sausage. The partnership will make Johnsonville products available to retailers and foodservice programs across the United States, the companies said.

"This partnership is bringing together two businesses that share a passion for producing delicious, high-quality food products," said AdvancePierre Foods CEO Bill Toler. "As our company continues to grow, we look forward to enhancing our product portfolio and bringing our customers the best-tasting, most satisfying products on the market."

Johnsonville Sausage is the No. 1 sausage brand in the country, according to the company.

"For more than 65 years, Johnsonville has been known for producing only the highest-quality, most flavorful sausage," said Johnsonville President Bill Morgan. "We look forward to our continued growth and presence on the menus of restaurants and other venues, sharing the legendary flavor of Johnsonville Sausage with even more consumers, through this new strategic partnership with AdvancePierre Foods."

Johnsonville products will be available to AdvancePierre customers during the second quarter of 2012.

Meanwhile, AdvancePierre is also growing with its launch of the Fast Fixin' Sandwich Bar self-serve program, according to a Vending Times report. Fully cooked sandwich meats come in a pre-packaged tray that allows operators to heat them inside "moisture-lock" packaging using a microwave, oven or convection oven. The meats retain their temperature for up to four hours in the Fast Fixin' display case.

Current options for the bar are Angus beef, breaded chicken and barbeque pork rib patties, plus fresh toppings. AdvancePierre said it is developing additional Fast Fixin' products for the future.
