Charity Wines

The LongBall Cellars brand of limited edition wines named after professional baseball players is now available to New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania c-store retailers. Created by Charity Wines, a division of VinLozano Imports Inc., Bronx Blends feature Jorge Posada's Jorge Cabernet, benefiting The Jorge Posada Foundation, and Bobby Abreu’s Abreu's Finest, assisting the Police Athletic League (PAL). The Queens Edition is made up of Jose Reyes' CaberReyes, benefiting the Major League Baseball Players Trust; Johan Santana's Santana's Select, aiding The Johan Santana Foundation; and Brian Schneider's Schneider Schardonnay, assisting The Catching for Kids Foundation. Nationwide, more than 30 professional baseball, football and hockey players will have charity wines in 2008 -- with 100 percent of the proceeds going toward an organization chosen by the athlete -- according to the company. The suggested retail price is $13.
