ExxonMobil Installs 1,000th Gilbarco Passport POS

WASHINGTON -- A gas retailer here became the 1000th site in the ExxonMobil network to install a Gilbarco Passport point of sale (POS) system, the manufacturer stated.

"Exxon Mobil has provided important direction and feedback in the development of the Passport point of sale system over the years," Greg Davis, marketing manager at Gilbarco Veeder-Root, said in a statement. "We are proud to reach this important milestone and we look forward to supporting their future point of sale needs."

The Passport POS system is certified on all major oil company networks and many generic networks, according to the company. In addition, the solution's Version 6 and later meets the Visa U.S.A. Payment Application Best Practices (PABP), under the Visa Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) and minimizes the potential for security breaches and compromised card information when implemented in a retailer's PCI-compliant environment, the company stated.
