Fresh & Easy Boasts Largest Opening Yet
MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. -- Tesco-owned Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market last week welcomed nearly 2,600 shoppers to the opening of its latest location
here, making it the largest U.S. opening for the retailer to date, reported Progressive Grocer a sister publication to Convenience Store News.
In addition, the store's "grill pack" special -- a low-priced grilling meal solution launched by the grocer last week for the holiday weekend -- sold particularly well during the opening, with shoppers buying 1,400 units in
just 12 hours, the report stated, citing the grocer.
"[The] opening was fantastic, the neighborhood showed up in force to show its support," said Tim Mason, Fresh & Easy CEO. "Based on what customers are buying at the Manhattan Beach store, there are going to be a lot of Fresh & Easy barbeques this 4th of July weekend."
The Manhattan Beach opening marks Fresh & Easy's continued expansion in Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada, the report stated.
