Fresh & Easy to Hire 750

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- As Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market continues its massive extension plans, the company has a need to fill hundreds of jobs, which is welcome news to prospective applicants facing a tough economic winds.

On July 2, the company will open it store No. 62 in Manhattan Beach, Calif., which adds to the growing list of stores currently operating in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada. As a result, the company said it will hire 750 new employees over the next 90 days as expansion continues.

With each store employing approximately 25 people, the company has received 13 applications for every position advertised. To date, Fresh & Easy employees 2,100 people at all stores, its distribution center and company headquarters.

Mason explained that entry-level positions at Fresh & Easy start at $10 an hour in California, with similarly competitive salaries in other states, and include a quarterly bonus of up to 10 percent. The company provides the opportunity for all employees to work at least 20 hours per week, which entitles them to comprehensive and affordable healthcare, including medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage, with Fresh & Easy paying at least 75 percent. Fresh & Easy also offers employees a 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
