Fresh & Easy Recalls Peanut Items
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Fresh & Easy joins the nationwide list of retailers and manufacturers that have recalled items potentially linked to a deadly salmonella outbreak.
In response to the investigations of Peanut Corp. of America (PCA) and its Georgia facility, Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market Inc.,is voluntarily recalling all date codes of fresh&easy Milk Chocolate Peanut Clusters, Sweet & Salty Granola Bars, and Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bars, the company reported.
As a precaution, Fresh & Easy originally removed these products from sale in January, but no illnesses have been reported. These are the only Fresh & Easy products affected, and they have not been directly linked to the salmonella outbreak:
-- fresh&easy Milk Chocolate Peanut Clusters 8-ounce container;
-- fresh&easy Sweet & Salty Granola Bars 6-count/7.4-ounce carton; and
-- fresh&easy Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bars
The recalled products were sold in Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market stores located in California, Nevada and Arizona.
