Gulf Brand Returns to Ohio Cities

TIPP CITY, Ohio and FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Gulf Oil has formed a branded partnership agreement with R&R Takhar Oil Co. that will return the Gulf brand to major Ohio cities for the first time in two decades.

R&R will convert five retail gasoline sites in its service area to the Gulf brand. The first site slated for conversion is located in Columbus, followed by locations in Dayton, Eaton, Medina and Canton.

"The Gulf brand brings additional value to our company," said Randy Singh, co-owner of R&R Takhar Oil Co. "Gulf has a great image, is a trusted company, and rekindles a sense of nostalgia for many people. We know that customers will feel great about filling up their tanks with Gulf gasoline."

Gulf is also expanding into Michigan and the Great Lakes region, according to the announcement.

"Randy Singh and Paul Takhar founded their company with the tenet that the most important part of any business is integrity and honesty," stated Gulf Oil senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer Rick Dery. "We are proud to share those values with Randy and Paul, and to have them as our partners as we expand the Gulf brand in Ohio."

Gulf Oil LP is one of the Northeast's largest wholesalers of refined petroleum products and distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,500 branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals, and more than 130 other supply points, the company stated.
