Hoosier State to House Casey's New Distribution Center

ANKENY, Iowa – Casey's General Stores Inc. today revealed the location of its highly anticipated second distribution center: Terre Haute, Ind.

The company plans to break ground in November on the facility, which will employ more than 150 people once open.

"Casey's devoted a significant amount of time and resources to the site selection process for this facility," stated President and CEO Robert Myers. "We believe Terre Haute is the most strategic location that will enable us to expand our territory further south and east, while at the same time providing a more efficient distribution system to our existing stores."

The new distribution center will occupy at least 250,000 square feet and carry an estimated cost of $30 million. Construction is expected to be completed in 12 to 18 months, Chief Financial Officer Bill Walljasper said during Casey's most-recent earnings call.

Casey's, which currently operates 1,783 convenience stores, selected the site in Indiana for it plans to expand south and east into states such as Arkansas and Tennessee.

Recently, the company also began building a 38,000-square-foot addition to its first distribution center located in its hometown of Ankeny, Iowa.
