Irving Buys Six C-stores from Webber

BANGOR, Maine -- Irving Oil Co. bought six gas stations/convenience stores from Webber Energy, based here, according to an Associated Press report.

Mike Shea, Webber's president and CEO, told the AP the six stores amount to approximately half of Webber's retail locations in Maine. He also said Webber wants to focus on its core heating oil and propane business, and wholesale gasoline distribution operation.

Irving, based in New Brunswick, will operate single stores in Bangor and Orono and another two in Freeport under the Irving banner with Circle K convenience stores.

Two others in Falmouth and Windham will continue to be operated as Lil' Marts.
