Kroger Doubles Fuel Discount Opportunities for Summer

CINCINNATI -- Kroger customers will have the chance to earn twice the usual possible discount on fuel this summer. Starting May 27 and running through September 30, the “Hot Savings on Fuel, All Summer Long” promotion doubles the maximum points redeemable for a discount at The Kroger Co.'s Family of Stores Fuel Centers.

Customers can earn up to 2,000 fuel rewards points for a $2.00-per-gallon discount.

"Last year we increased the potential savings up to $1 per gallon at most of our stores around the country. Customers continue looking for ways to save, and we're delighted to offer them even more control at the pump by doubling their potential savings up to $2 per gallon all summer long," said Michael J. Donnelly, Kroger's senior vice president of merchandising. "In addition to everyday low prices in all of our stores, this is another way we're rewarding our customers for choosing to shop with us."

Customers can earn fuel points in multiple ways:

  • Every $100 in groceries purchased earns 100 fuel points.
  • Most gift cards purchased from Kroger's Gift Card Mall earn double points every day, and the company is currently offering quadruple fuel points on gift cards through the Dads and Grads savings event.
  • When customers use the Kroger 1-2-3 Rewards Visa, they can earn an additional 5 cents off the cost of a gallon when they redeem points, and new can save 25 cents per gallon during their first three months as cardholders when they redeem at least 100 fuel points.
  • Each qualifying prescription earns 50 fuel points.

Points can be redeemed at most but not all Kroger Family of Stores locations, said the company. Restrictions vary by market. Local banner names include Kroger, Fred Meyer, Fry's, King Soopers, Ralphs, Smiths and more.
