Lykins Oil Goes Electric

MILFORD, Ohio -- Lykins Oil Co. added a licensed electricity brokerage to its menu of product offerings. According to Lykins, the new division will help Ohio businesses save time and money in the state's deregulated electricity market.

"We are excited to add electricity services. Our goal is to provide value to our customers by addressing all their energy needs. At Lykins, we are known for providing our customers with the highest quality products at the lowest possible price, said Lykins President Jeff Lykins.

Lykins is already known for providing services including branded fuels, wholesale fuels commercial transportation and home heating oil under the BP, Marathon, ExxonMobil, Shell and Clark names.

Lykins said it wanted to be involved in electricity because finding a supplier can be overwhelming and time consuming for a business owner.

"We analyze how a company does business and its electricity usage patterns," the company said in a statement. "We do the leg work and due diligence to thoroughly screen potential suppliers to ensure that they are viable, healthy companies with a reputation to deliver. We obtain competitive prices from multiple suppliers. Then we recommend the electricity supplier and pricing options that are best suited to each company's needs, and we establish an agreement and service with the provider the client company chooses. This helps businesses lower and control monthly bills."

Founded in 1948, Lykins' petroleum marketing business serves customers in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, as well as many areas throughout the Midwest and Southeastern United States.
