Meijer Introduces Summer Fuel Savings Program
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Meijer has rolled out a summertime fuel savings program that provides customers with a 10-cents-per-gallon discount on fuel at all 179 of its gas stations.
"Meijer is always looking for ways to save our customers money," noted Hank Meijer, co-chairman of the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer, which operates 198 supercenters and grocery stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. "Gasoline prices have a major impact on family budgets, so we are pleased to be able to offer these savings to all Meijer credit card holders in time for their summer travels."
The program, which runs through Sept. 3, doesn't require any purchase inside the store, or use of coupons. When shoppers use their Meijer credit cards, issued by GE Capital Retail Bank, to buy gas at Meijer stations, the pump will recognize the use of the card and the 10-cents-per-gallon reduction will appear on the readout.
The offer is valid at all Meijer gas stations, with no minimum fuel purchase required.
Year-round, Meijer credit card holders receive a savings of five cents per gallon of gas bought at the chain's gas stations. Doubling the offer will now help save Meijer customers money on gas during the busiest driving season.
Customers can apply for a Meijer credit card at any of the retailer's stores, online or via QR (quick response) link with a smartphone. By opening up a Meijer credit account, customers will also save 10 percent off their first purchase on merchandise in the main retail store and receive monthly specials. Meijer Platinum MasterCard holders get 20 percent off grocery, health and beauty care rewards and coupons after earning 2,000 rewards points. One point is given for every $1 spent inside Meijer and wherever MasterCard is accepted.
