M&M's to Introduce Sixth Character in Super Bowl Ad
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- Mars Chocolate North America will introduce a sixth M&M's character during its Super Bowl XLVI commercial on Feb. 5. Ms. Brown will appear during the 30-second ad that is slated to air during the game's first quarter.
"We're very excited to introduce Ms. Brown to the world," said Debra A. Sandler, chief consumer officer, Mars Chocolate North America. "Now is the time for Ms. Brown to step into the spotlight -- and there's no bigger spotlight than Super Bowl Sunday." Ms. Brown decided to come out from behind the scenes after witnessing the success of products such as M&M's Pretzel Chocolate Candies and the admiration fans have for her fellow characters, according to Mars. She has held the position of Chief Chocolate Officer for 70 years.
Mars plans to unveil the first images of Ms. Brown during special events at The Grove in Los Angeles and New York City's M&M's World on Jan. 30 at 3 p.m. ET. Fans can view her debut online at www.facebook.com/mms.
After the Super Bowl, Ms. Brown will appear on television and in print and digital ads, store displays and promotions, as well as on Facebook and Twitter, the company said.
