Murphy Oil Promotes Corporate Secretary
EL DORADO, Ark. -- Walter K. Compton was promoted to vice president, law for Murphy Oil Co., and will continue to serve as the company’s corporate secretary.
Compton joined the law department of Murphy Oil in 1988 and was promoted to manager, law department and corporate secretary in 1996, the company reported.
Compton received a bachelors degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University and a law degree from the University of Arkansas.
In his new position, Compton will continue to report to Steven A. Cossé, executive vice president and general counsel.
