Nice N Easy's MacDougall Honored

CANASTOTA, N.Y.-- John MacDougall, president and CEO of Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes, was named "Citizen of the Year" by the American Legion Post 140 in Canastota.

The "Citizen of the Year" designation is an annual award given out by American Legion Post 140 to an individual who has shown leadership and involvement in the local community. Several nominations were brought before the Legion board for review. MacDougall was selected for the 2002 honor because of the active role he has taken in the Canastota community, both on a personal and professional level. He has also been a strong supporter of the activities put forth by the American Legion.

Over 40 Nice N Easy family members were on hand to share the honor. MacDougall said Nice N Easy team has a long history of community involvement, and this award is something that each individual person takes pride in. "I'm truly honored that the American Legion of Canastota has chosen me for this award. I have always admired the great effort put forth by the Legion in the community, and I look forward to my continued involvement as well," he said "I can honestly speak for all of us at Nice N Easy in pledging our continued support in serving the needs of the great people of the Canastota area."

MacDougall founded Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes in 1980. The company operates 80 convenience stores with branded partners such as Citgo, Sunoco and Mobil. The chain is currently debranding the fuel offering at a number of stores to pave the way for rapid growth of its proprietary Power Plus gas brand.
