WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go L.C., operator of 430 c-stores across 12 states, promoted Kevin W. Krause to the position of senior vice president of marketing, the company stated.
"Kevin brings a wealth of experience to the position, including a strong knowledge of Kum & Go store operations, an attitude of leadership and an energy that will push our marketing department to the next level," president and CEO of Kum & Go, Kyle Krause -- also Kevin Krause's brother -- said in a statement. "He will provide direction and guidance as we work to become the No. 1 convenient retailer."
Krause has been involved with Kum & Go for 20 years as a director, and has extensive store operations experience. In his new position, Krause's responsibilities in merchandising, marketing, branding, advertising, public relations and internal communications with more than 3,600 Kum & Go associates will build customer count, increase the average transaction and improve margins, according to the company.
"I started working at Kum & Go when I was in fifth grade, so it's quite fitting that my career has come full-circle and that I'm back helping to grow my family's company," Kevin Krause said in a statement. "I'm excited about taking on this new opportunity and look forward to the accomplishments ahead."
He most recently served as president and owner of the minor league baseball team, Swing of the Quad Cities, located in Davenport, Iowa, where he spent 10 years. Prior to that, he worked for seven years with Liberty Bank, serving as branch president for a location in Mason City, Iowa, and marketing director at the corporate headquarters in West Des Moines, Iowa.
