QuikTrip Earns 'Best Companies to Work For' Distinction

TULSA, Okla. -- Locally based QuikTrip Corp. has been named one of the best companies to work for by Fortune magazine.

The publication's "Top 100 Best Companies to Work For" 2012 list ranks QuikTrip at No. 66 given its 3-percent job growth and 11,615 U.S. employees. (U.S. employees include part-timers as of the time of the survey; job growth, new jobs and voluntary turnover apply to full-time employees only.)

"The convenience-store chain staffs new stores with veteran employees who bring the company's 'superfriendly' culture with them," the magazine stated.

QuikTrip is also recognized for its salaries. The c-store retailer comes in at No. 69 on Fortune's "Big Pay" list for salaried employees, with a store manager, its most common job title for salaried employees, earning $69,383 per year. QT lands at No. 52 on the "Big Pay" list for hourly employees, with a relief assistant, its most common job title for hourly employees, earning $44,300 annually.

The retailer is also noted on the magazine's "Best Perks" listing for offering fully paid sabbaticals.

Other retailers appearing on the Top 100 list are Wegman's Food Markets (No. 4), Whole Foods Market (No. 32), Starbucks (No. 73) and Publix Super Markets (No. 78). Google secured the No. 1 spot, while Intercontinental Hotels Group finished the list at No. 100.
