QuikTrip Park Opens Friday

TULSA, Okla. -- The new QuikTrip Park, funded by the convenience store chain to commemorate its 50th anniversary last fall, is slated to open at 10:30 a.m. Friday.

The park at 41st Street and Riverside Drive in Tulsa, Okla. features a new playground, interactive water fountains, restrooms and a new shelter. QuikTrip spent $2.8 million on the construction, which started last July, KJRH Channel 2 reported.

"We couldn't think of a better way to give back to the city than through this project for River Parks," QuikTrip President and CEO Chet Cadieux said in a press release issued by the River Parks Authority. "Tulsa is our home and has supported our stores for 50 years. It's great that we can return the favor through the new plaza and playground."
