Rutter's Customer Wins Three Years Free Gas

YORK, Pa. -- This morning, Rutter's president Scott Hartman – accompanied by a fuel tanker truck -- called on Stewartstown, Pa. resident Charles Porter and his wife, Susan, at their home to present an oversized version of the debit cards the couple can use for their gasoline (or any other) purchases at Rutter’s stores.

Porter is the first winner in Rutter's "Fuel Up Free!" gas giveaway and will receive free gas for three years.

"We're grateful to Mr. Porter and the thousands of other loyal customers who have participated so far in our giveaway," Hartman said. "It's a lot of fun to be able to reward him for his patronage and to ease his travel costs for the next three years. We look forward to presenting free gas for three years to two other lucky customers."

Charles Porter, a private security officer for a Baltimore development company, said he drives 100 miles daily, six days per week, to get to work. The high price of gasoline forced him to leave his pickup at home and instead drive his more fuel-efficient car.

Customers can enter the giveaway through Oct. 1. The two remaining prize drawings are Sept. 15 and Oct. 15. Giveaway rules are available at all Rutter's and at www.rutters.com.

Family-owned and third generation-managed, York-based Rutter's (www.rutters.com) operates 50 convenience stores in York, Adams, Franklin and Lancaster counties.
