Rutter's Ranks High in Reader Survey
YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores beat out a number of national names in the York Sunday News' annual "Best of York" reader survey, which placed the 53-unit convenience chain at the top of the list in six categories for 2008, the company stated.
Rutter's took first place in the breakfast, coffee, deli/sub/sandwich, fast food, lunch and milk categories, according to the company. The chain defeated major brands including Cracker Barrel in the breakfast category, Starbucks in coffee, Subway for the deli/sub/sandwich list, Wendy's for fast food and Panera Bread in the lunch ranking.
"We're grateful to York Sunday News readers and to our loyal customers for continuing to put their trust in the Rutter's brand," Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter's, said in a statement. "Their votes in this survey and voting every day by shopping in our stores means a lot to the whole Rutter's team."
This year, Rutter's convenience chain is also celebrating its 40th anniversary.
"We're proud to be the local guys serving our neighbors, who have been drinking Rutter's milk and stopping at Rutter's stores for their everyday needs for generations," Todd Rutter, president of Rutter's Dairy, added.
