Rutter's Reopens Larger Store in Hometown

YORK, Pa. -- A newly revamped Rutter's Farm Store here will reopen today, complete with a car wash and 16 fueling stations. At 5,200 square feet, the 24-hour new location is twice the size of the old store, which closed for renovations on April 14, the company stated.

New features for the store include a modern design, open ceilings, extensive use of floor and wall tiles and bathrooms with floating ceilings, music and other upscale accents, Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter's Farm Stores, said in a statement. In addition, the new design includes "green" features, such as the store's white roof, which is designed to keep the building cooler while reducing energy demand.

"We appreciate the patience that our loyal customers have shown while we've transformed this site over the past months," Hartman stated. "We can't wait to welcome them back to see our latest store design and all that comes with it."

Hartman explained the new location features Rutter's latest foodservice offerings, including custom stir-fry, fajitas and fresh-baked bread. For a personal touch, customers can design their own "oriental bowls" by choosing among chicken, beef and pork; fried rice, white rice, noodles and veggies; and various toppings and dressings.

Additional amenities include a premium coffee island, a seating area and a surcharge-free M&T Bank ATM, according to the retailer.
