Stewart's Shops Sees Green on St. Patrick's Day
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Stewart's Shops, a chain of 325 convenience stores headquartered here, rewarded lucky customers wearing green on St. Patrick's Day with free ice cream cones, the company stated.
"The free cone on St. Patrick's Day is a fun tradition in our shops, and it marks the start of our spring ice cream season," Stewart's Shops president Gary Dake said in a statement. "I make sure I wear my favorite green sweater and get my free cone first thing in the morning."
The single-scoop giveaway is the chain's annual tradition on the holiday, which takes place from open to close at all Stewart's locations on March 17. Last year, Stewart's locations scooped nearly 100,000 free ice cream cones on St. Patrick's Day, according to the company.
