Susser Holdings Realizes Same-Store Merchandise Increases

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Susser Holdings Corp.’s third quarter sales statistics underscore growth rates in certain categories including same-store merchandise, which is up 6.76 percent.

The company, based here, opened seven retail stores and closed two, bringing its current retail store count to 509. It also reported retail average per-store fuel volumes are expected to decline by 2.4 percent on a reported basis and about 6.2 percent on a pro forma basis.

According to a released statement, the pro forma comparisons reflect the combined results of Stripes and Town & Country stores as if Susser had acquired Town & Country Food Stores at the beginning of 2007.

In total, over the last nine-month period, the company is forecasting an increase in same-store merchandise sales. Retail average per-store fuel volumes are expected to increase by 1.5 percent on a reported basis and down by about 1.5 percent on a pro forma basis.
