Ten Cenla C-stores to be Auctioned

By Mehgan Belanger

ALEXANDRIA, La. -- Tranzon VenueBid, a national auction firm, was retained by IAC Liquidating Trust to sell at absolute action 10 convenience stores located in central Louisiana and Mississippi, at the Conference Center at the Greens here on Dec. 2, 2008.

The portfolio of stores were formerly associated with Cenla, and were involved in bankruptcy proceedings that saw the stores turned over the company’s lender. The lender placed the stores in the trust, which was recently ordered to sell the properties, Ed Durnil, of Tranzon, told CSNews Online.

Six of the properties are in operation and are ready for new ownership, while four are closed, he said. The gas brands offered include Chevron, Mobil, Texaco and the proprietary Cenla name. One of the sites has a motor home park associated with it, while four others have foodservice and one location has a car wash, Durnil told CSNews Online.

There will be no minimum bid and no reserves on the sites, according to the firm. Registration is required to bid and pre-auction offers will be considered, according to Tranzon. The sites can be purchased singularly or in combination bids, according to the company.

More information on the properties and auction can be found at www.tranzon.com, or by calling (877) 824-7653, the company stated.
