Verge Connect and Digital Deal Form Alliance

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Verge Connect, a mobile application (app) for smartphones, and Digital Deal, a text marketing program accessible by conventional mobile phones, have formed a partnership to enable convenience store operators to cost effectively connect with their customers, regardless of their choice of mobile phone.

According to the companies, this partnership represents the first convenience store-tailored marketing solution that allows store operators a choice of a branded mobile app, text marketing program or both, depending on their objectives.

"While consumers that utilize smartphone apps represent some of the most loyal and tech savvy customers, we were only able to connect with about half of the mobile phone users in the United States" said Carson Kuehne, director of sales at Verge Connect. "By partnering with the Digital Deal, we now can help our clients to connect with the other half of the population that continue to use conventional mobile phones."

Verge Connect was developed by the software division of MR Williams, a North Carolina-based convenience store distributor, and provides retailers with the ability to offer a branded, customized mobile app for their iPhone and Android customers. The app, which can be download for free, features a store locator, store-specific promotions, redemption tracking and customer-segmented push promotions.

The Digital Deal, created by Ohio-based convenience store consulting firm Convevo Partners, is a text marketing program designed specifically for convenience store operators, regardless of whether they operate one store or 100-plus stores. The program is built around a text marketing engine that is fully managed by the Digital Deal. It includes a promotional sign package that is customized for each store operator, as well as a marketing program to accelerate customer sign-up and sales growth.
