Winners Named in New CSNews Foodservice Awards

LAS VEGAS -- Twelve of the convenience store industry's most accomplished foodservice retailers will be honored next month during a special reception at the NACS Show celebrating the inaugural Convenience Store News Foodservice Innovators Awards.

Being held at the NACS Hunter Club at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Monday, Oct. 8, and sponsored by Tyson Foods, the CSNews Foodservice Innovators Awards will provide the c-store industry with a forum to recognize retail leaders who are raising the bar on quality, service and innovation in this fast-growing product category.

Two winners were chosen by CSNews' 14-member panel of How To Do World-Class Foodservice experts in each of the six award categories: Best Prepared Foods Innovator, Hot Beverages Innovator, Cold & Frozen Beverages Innovator, Best New Foodservice Program, Best Foodservice Limited-Time Offer/Promotion, and Foodservice Innovator of the Year.

This year's award winners (in alphabetical order) are:

Casey's General Stores
Kum & Go
Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes
Quick Chek
Rutter's Farm Stores
VPS Convenience Stores

Earlier this year, CSNews sent ballots out to the How-To Crew of foodservice experts and asked them to vote on their choices for top foodservice innovators in the six categories. The votes were tallied up from our panel, which includes top-tier retailers, prominent industry foodservice consultants and leading research firms, to determine the winners.

Thus, the winners really represent the best of the industry as chosen by their peers and industry experts.

Gold and silver awards will be presented at the NACS Show reception, which begins at 5:45 p.m. on Oct. 8. This exclusive event is open to retailers only and will include hors d'oeuvres and a hosted bar. For those needing transportation, shuttle service outside the Grand Concourse of the Las Vegas Convention will be extended until 7:15 p.m.

Interested retailers should RSVP for the event at
