ATLANTA — In the fourth video as part of its “Power Up Employee Engagement” series, the North America NACS Council of the Coca-Cola Retailing Research Council (CCRRC) shows why celebrating your employees’ accomplishments is more important than you might think.

When people feel valued, their work is much better because they know they’re helping to grow the business. This video shows an example of how a few words of appreciation in a district manager’s newsletter unlocked the energy of people across her district.

You’ll also hear ideas on how to use “real-time recognition” to power up your people.

Key learnings from this latest video and a corresponding CCRRC blog post include:

  • See the good work, praise it.
  • Be specific with your encouragement or recognition.
  • Understand that recognition ignites teamwork.

A new video will be released weekly in the six-part series that speaks to the importance of employee engagement and provides c-store retailers with insights they can use in their own stores.

The video series, titled “Power Up Employee Engagement: A Flash of Light,” is a lead-up to a major quantitative study, which will be released in June.

In addition, a narrated PowerPoint presentation by Dr. Blake Frank, a management professor at the University of Dallas, about the power of employee engagement will be made available in April.
