Thorntons Whips Up Bakery Partnership for Florida Stores

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Thorntons Inc. is partnering with Alessi Bakery, which will provide a variety of doughnuts, pastries and other baked goods to the convenience store chain in the Sunshine State.

Alessi's products were available in Thorntons' Florida c-stores as of Oct. 1. The convenience retailer will continue to offer customer favorites, such as cinnamon buns and cronuts, while adding new flavors. The chain offers a single doughnut for 99 cents, and fancy doughnuts and muffins for $1.69. All bakery items will be made fresh by Alessi and delivered daily.

The Tampa, Fla.-based bakery has operated for four generations and offers a traditional bakery feel with a focus on qualify, hard work and consistency, according to the company.

Louisville-based Thorntons Inc. operates 183 c-stores in Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Florida.
