7-Eleven to Offer Ultra Mobile Prepaid Service Plans
DALLAS — 7-Eleven Inc. will begin offering Ultra Mobile prepaid service plans at more than 6,700 of its convenience stores nationwide starting this month as part of a new distribution agreement.
Participating 7-Eleven operators will offer Ultra Mobile’s $29 per month service plan and replenishments for customers renewing their plans. The Ultra Mobile plan provides unlimited international talk and text to more than 40 countries, 1,000 minutes of credit for calling anywhere in the world, and data at 4G LTE speed.
The prepaid service plans will be available in 7-Eleven stores with significant local populations of ethnic communities, according to Ultra Mobile. In-language customer care offered by Ultra Mobile will be available to those who speak Spanish, Chinese or Indian dialects.
Ultra Mobile said the availability of its product in 7-Eleven stores is part of the company’s strategy to grow by nearly doubling the number of its distribution outlets nationwide.
“7-Eleven’s aim to provide a portfolio of wireless services that appeal to an important segment of their shoppers — immigrants to the U.S. — aligns perfectly with Ultra Mobile’s strategic focus,” said Chris Furlong, executive vice president of product and marketing at Ultra Mobile. "As we strive to innovate and achieve diversity in our distribution channels, this agreement gives us an opportunity to serve a segment of wireless subscribers who want affordable, no-contract mobile services.”
Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Ultra Mobile has readily available service plans for purchase and activation at nearly 15,000 U.S. retail locations, with hundreds of thousands of customers using its services monthly.
Dallas-based 7-Eleven operates, franchises or licenses 10,500 stores in North America.
