Pilot Flying J Flexes Shower Power

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Fueling up at Pilot Flying J locations will earn professional drivers free daily showers.

The Knoxville-based travel center operator is offering this perk to all drivers who pump more than 500 gallons of fuel in a month. It is also extending the shower credit expiration period for all drivers. 

"We reached out to professional drivers through a series of surveys and focus groups to see how we could make their experience better while they're visiting our stores," said Jimmy Haslam, CEO of Pilot Flying J. "They overwhelmingly said they would like free showers, and they don't want to have to worry about an expiration date on a shower credit. We have the best customers in the industry, and we are more than happy to offer these new perks to show our appreciation for their loyalty." 

To receive the free daily showers, professional drivers must fill up at Pilot and Flying J locations for a minimum of 500 gallons of fuel in a month. One shower credit will be issued to the driver's MyRewards account each day for the remainder of the month in which the award was earned and for the entire following month.

In addition, drivers will receive a 10-day expiration on shower credits earned before reaching 500 gallons of fuel per month. This expiration period has been extended from the standard five-day credit. 

The new offers come as Pilot Flying J launches a $50-million project to remodel restrooms at all 650 locations and a $50-million project to remodel driver showers by the end of this year.
