Sheetz Improves Standing on Best Places to Work in PA List

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Convenience Restaurants jumped to No. 8 on the annual Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania list of large companies. This marks the company's 12th consecutive year on the list, making it only the second company ever to remain on it so long.

Companies are named to the list following evaluations designed to identify and recognize best practices by employers across several categories of workplace policies, systems and employee experiences, according to the announcement.

"This kind of recognition is priceless to us because our associates volunteer to provide their opinions of Sheetz," said Sheetz Inc. President and CEO Joe S. Sheetz. "The feedback we get through these surveys is valuable because it helps us identify ways we can improve as an employer. Our employees are the most important assets we have and it feels great to know they enjoy coming to work every day."

The awards were given at a recent ceremony in Lancaster, Pa., to a group of the top 100 companies, both small/medium-sized companies (with fewer than 250 employees within the state) and large-sized companies (250 or more employees within the state). Sheetz employs more than 9,000 workers in Pennsylvania.

Sheetz is also currently a Best Place to Work in North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia.

Altoona-based Sheetz Inc. operates more than 460 locations throughout Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and West Virginia.
