California Owner Redefines C-store Concept
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — ENRoute Market is redefining the definition of "convenience store."
Located on the corner of Treat Blvd. and Sunne Lane in Walnut Creek, ENRoute is stocked with a curated selection of fine wines, specialty foods, craft sodas, fresh-baked baguettes and cheeses, reported East Bay Times.
Items among ENRoute Market's menu include: sandwiches and salads prepared daily off-site by professional chefs; all day healthy breakfast like the Peaceful Parfait to the Energetic Egg Whites; and entrees like the Buddha Bowl and Vita-Box. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.
"It’s just a reinvented convenience store," said owner Heather McNeil.
McNeil donates the leftover chef-made meals to the Monument Crisis Center in Concord and the UC Berkeley Food Pantry.
ENRoute Market sits in the middle of the Pleasant Hill-Contra Costa Centre Bay Area Rapid Transit village. It opened nearly three weeks ago, the news outlet reported.
