14 Convenience Retailers Cited in 2011 CSNews Store Design Awards

Jersey City, N.J. -- Fourteen convenience stores from around the world have been recognized for outstanding store design and innovation in this year's Convenience Store News Best Store Design Contest.

The Best Original Design award this year went to Orbits Convenience Store in Houston, Texas. Orbits' NASA-themed store was designed by Infiniti Décor. Other noteworthy winners include The Green Station, operated by the Emirates National Oil Company in Dubai, Frontier Fuel's Express Lane/Juan Burrito concept in Dalhart, Texas, MAC's Convenience Store in Calgary, Alberta, and Duane Reade's Growler Bar in Brooklyn, which won in the new specialty department category. In addition to the traditional Best Original, Best Interior, Best Low-Cost and Best Sky's the Limit award categories, this year's contest also features winners in specialty categories, such as Best Beer Cave and Best Cold Vault section.
