$2 Million Circle K Opens in Arizona
PEORIA, Ariz. -- An upscale, $2 million Circle K convenience store featuring 20 gas pumps opened here last week, The Arizona Republic reported.
The store -- located on the southwestern corner of Pinnacle Peak Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway -- features a red brick exterior with antique-looking lamp fixtures, the report stated. Inside the store, panoramic scenes of nearby Lake Pleasant greet customers, along with a selection of high-end wines, according to the report.
"This is one of the most expensive Circle K's built in Maricopa County," Phil Denaro Jr., president of Essex Cos., the site's builder, told the paper. He added that the store is the first gas retailer along the Lake Pleasant Parkway corridor, and will be a stop for vacationers on their way to the lake. "The 20 pumps will accommodate boats and cars for the people heading up to the lake," he told the newspaper.
Essex Cos. has developed several commercial and residential projects in the region, totaling a $27.5 million investment in the area, the report stated. "We believe in this area, and we're backing that belief with our money," Denaro said.
