7-Eleven Brings Playful Promotion to Canada Coffee Lovers

VANCOUVER, B.C. — 7-Eleven Canada is giving its customers a chance to share their relationship status this Valentine's Day — on their coffee cups.

For the month of February, the convenience store chain is inviting customers to head to their local 7-Eleven store and share their relationship status offline with a $1 coffee. Coffee lovers will be able to wear their heart on their cups by choosing a limited-edition Coffee Date cup that will tell the world if they're Single, Taken or It's Complicated.

The promotion will run at all 7-Eleven stores in Canada, from British Columbia to Ontario, while supplies last.

7-Eleven ran a similar three-day promotion in Canada last year, but decided this time to extend the promotion for the full month. The retailer wants to give customers the chance to turn their everyday coffee purchase into a statement of love or a quest for love, according to the convenience store chain.

"Whatever your relationship status may be, we are all about having fun and taking Valentine's Day a little less seriously," said Raj Kapoor, vice president and general manager, 7-Eleven Canada. "We hope Canadians will have fun sharing their status offline, by wearing their hearts on their cup while enjoying our 100-percent Arabica premium coffee. After all, coffee is the most popular hot beverage in Canada."

The promotion will also feature Kaitlyn Bristowe, a Vancouver local and star of the 11th season of the "The Bachelorette," who will host a Coffee Date on Feb. 14.

In the spirit of "The Bachelorette," Bristowe and her fiancé Shawn Booth will play matchmakers from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. by serving as coffee baristas and pouring coffee in the appropriate Coffee Date cups at a local 7-Eleven store in Vancouver.

Coffee lovers are encouraged to share their status online, too, by posting a photo of themselves and their cup of choice using #coffeelovers and @7ElevenCanada.

Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc. operates, franchises or licenses nearly 10,500 7-Eleven stores in North America. Globally, there are more than 56,200 7-Eleven stores in 16 countries.
