7-Eleven Canada Renews DataWave Contract
WAYNE, NJ – DataWave Systems Inc. has re-signed a contract with 7-Eleven Canada to be the exclusive supplier of point-of-sale activation technology.
The relationship between the two companies began in 1995 when DataWave provided long distance prepaid phone cards to 7-Eleven. In 2002, DataWave supplied POS activation terminals to all of its stores in Canada, approximately 500 locations.
The terminals sell phone cards and cellular PINS from all of Canada's phone carriers electronically, eliminating stocking time, shrinkage and inventory cost, the company said.
Since then, DataWave has extended its offerings in Canada stores. Products currently offered at 7-Eleven through DataWave include gift cards, photo printing, mp3 downloads, and WiFi Internet access.
