7-Eleven, Monarch Beverages Expand Sampling Promo

OKLAHOMA CITY -- 7-Eleven and Monarch Beverages are expanding their free can sampling promotion of CoMotion, Monarch Beverages' "no crash" energy boost line.

An initial test sampling promo originally ran in late August at 109 7-Eleven stores here. Based on that promotion's success, the free can sampling promo was renegotiated with 7-Eleven and expanded into an integrated marketing campaign in locations throughout the Oklahoma City region from Oct. 29-31, according to Monarch.

"This sampling program worked to drive trial and adoption in its one-day format, and we're pleased 7-Eleven wants to partner again with us to expand it further," stated Tommy Little, Monarch Beverages' vice president of sales.

The free can promo will be supported by a customized consumer Web page for redemption coupon downloads -- at www.comotionenergy.com/7-Eleven; in-store point-of-sale materials; a text messaging mobile application extension offering consumers immediate redemption codes; and a supporting promo schedule with targeted radio partners KJ103 and Rock 100.5, which reach the brand's primary young adult target.

Plans are in development for similar promotions in additional markets, Monarch said.

Monarch launched its antioxidant and adaptogen-packed CoMotion formulation in 2008. The line comes in Dragon fruit flavor and is packaged in 8.4-ounce cans. Distribution has focused on drug and convenience channels, the company stated.
