Albemarle Oil Deploys Smartphone App

ALBEMARLE, N.C. -- Convenience store retailer Albemarle Oil Co. (ALCO) launched a smartphone application (app) powered by Verge Connect.

The new app from the Albemarle, N.C.-based operator of 23 c-stores in North Carolina and South Carolina offers social media platforms, customer feedback management and back-end analytics. In addition, ALCO customers can now view maps directing them to the closest location, as well as receive deals and coupons for use once they arrive at their desired store.

"We're excited about the ALCO smartphone app and the opportunities Verge's technology presents for enhancing customer experience and supporting the growth of our brand," said Ron Lattimer, ALCO's operations manager.

Henderson, N.C.-based Verge Retail is the technology spinoff of M.R. Williams Inc. Its technology solutions are utilized by more than 2,200 retail locations.
