Aloha Petroleum Rolls Out Free Gas Partnership

HONOLULU – Aloha Petroleum is teaming up with Foodland supermarkets to offer shoppers free gasoline at Aloha and Shell stations in Hawaii. As of May 1, customers in Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island can earn up to $25 in fuel gift cards by using their Maika'i frequent shopper cards.

"Here at Foodland, we're committed to providing our customers great value on the things they care about. And we know saving on gas is really important to them," stated Jenai S. Wall, chairman and CEO of Foodland Super Market Ltd. "We're excited to build on our partnership with Aloha Petroleum Ltd. by offering our customers the ease and convenience of earning free gas when they shop in our stores."

Foodland customers earn one Maika'I point for every dollar they spend using their Maika'I card. Once they reach 250 points, they receive a My Rewards certificate. Four certificates can be redeemed for a $25 gift card that can be used at any Aloha Petroleum or Shell location. Customers who redeem two certificates will receive a $10 Aloha or Shell gift card.

"We're pleased to partner with Foodland on another innovative program that brings value to their loyal Maika'i card members," said Richard Parry, president and CEO of Aloha Petroleum Ltd. "The savings that Foodland customers will see is significant. If a customer buys 10 gallons of gasoline with a $25 gift card, that's a savings of $2.50 per gallon. It really does pay to shop at Foodland."

The promotion is set to run through Oct. 31, with the possibility of an extension, according to Aloha Petroleum.

Aloha Petroleum is the largest gasoline marketer and convenience store operator in Hawaii, while Foodland is the state's largest locally owned and operated grocery retailer.
