Alon USA Donates $100,000 to Katrina Relief Effort

DALLAS -- Alon USA announced today a $100,000 gift to the Dallas-area Red Cross to help provide relief for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

After consulting the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, the company decided to donate funds set aside for a reception at the Center to provide shelter, food and other necessities for families displaced by the storm.

“Alon USA understands the importance of providing humanitarian relief to victims of Hurricane Katrina,” said David Wiessman, executive chairman of Alon USA. “We are proud to support the efforts of the Dallas-area Red Cross and the campaign to build the Center.”
