Alon USA Selects RBS Lynk for Payment Processing

DALLAS -- Alon USA, a petroleum refiner and marketer, chose RBS Lynk, the U.S. payment processing division of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, for credit, debit and gift card processing for its distributor network of FINA-branded c-stores and its subsidiary, Southwest Convenience Stores LLC. Through the agreement, RBS Lynk will process both pay-at-the-pump transactions and in-store card sales.

"In establishing this new relationship, Alon and RBS Lynk have one single focus: to deliver consistent and reliable credit-card services to Alon's customers, helping them to be even more competitive in what can be a very challenging environment," Judge Dobrient, general manager for marketing at Alon, said in a written statement. "Our mission is to be completely attentive to providing the most effective solution for the distributors and outlets we serve."

RBS Lynk's range of certifications for point-of-sale equipment, including integrated pay-at-the-pump systems, allows Alon to upgrade services and offerings in the future. Using the program, marketers can select dial-up, frame relay or Internet processing, based on the needs of a particular store.

The conversion to RBS Lynk is expected to be complete in the fourth quarter of 2007.

"RBS Lynk is honored to have been chosen as the payments processing partner for the Alon family of convenience stores," Larry Wine, RBS Lynk president and CEO, said in a written statement. "We're committed to providing unsurpassed customer service and support to more than 1,200 c-stores connected with Alon. We look forward to a long-term business partnership with the company."
