Break Time Opts for NCR Optic 5 Outdoor Multimedia Solution
COLUMBIA, Mo. — MFA Oil Co. will be implementing NCR Corp.’s NCR Optic 5, an outdoor multimedia device and payment solution for outdoor fuel retailing, at all of its Break Time convenience stores. MFA Oil currently operates 73 Break Time stores across Missouri and Arkansas.
Wanting to modernize its user interface and provide a consistent user experience at every Break Time store, MFA Oil sought out an omnichannel solution provider. The retailer chose the NCR Optic 5 for its user-friendly software, open source platform, and media management features.
“We needed one single solution to use across all of our dispenser models, and NCR’s Optic 5 was the best option on the market,” said Curtis Chaney, senior vice president of retail at MFA Oil. “It allows us to deliver convenient payment solutions to individual customers with benefits and opportunities to enhance their experience at the pump, drive loyalty, and ultimately increase more conversions from forecourt to storefront.”
The NCR Optic 5 is an optimal and cost-effective industrial multimedia solution for outdoor fuel retailing. Supporting debit, credit, “tap and go,” vouchers, coupons and loyalty programs, it’s also customer friendly. It can fit in any standard pump head or pedestal, while housing a large graphical display with a user-friendly interface and promotional advertising, according to Duluth, Ga.-based NCR.
“By opting for Optic 5, MFA Oil is bringing the latest pay-at-the-pump technology to customers’ fingertips, while connecting with individuals while they fuel,” said David Wilkinson, senior vice president of NCR’s Retail Group. “We are delighted to extend our cooperation with the company and help MFA Oil build reliable relationships with fuel-and-go drivers.”
Based in Columbia, Mo., MFA Oil is a farmer-owned energy supply cooperative with more than 40,000 members. Through a subsidiary, MFA Oil operates Break Time convenience stores.
