Bring-Your-Own Cup Day Will Kick Off 7-Eleven Slurpee Season

DALLAS — Customers can bring any container that resembles a cup — including carafes, beakers, goblets and jars — to a participating 7-Eleven store and fill it up with their favorite Slurpee flavor on Saturday, April 11.

From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., 7-Eleven Inc. will celebrate BYO Cup Day for the first time in the United States.

It will cost $1.49 to fill up the Slurpee "cup" of choice — the average cost of a medium Slurpee. Each cup must fit upright through an in-store display with a 10-inch-diameter hole.

"Slurpee is all about having fun, and what better way to celebrate warmer weather than by filling your favorite cup with your favorite beverage?" stated Laura Gordon, 7-Eleven's vice president of marketing and brand innovation. "From sand buckets to trophies, customers can unleash their creativity by bringing in their choice of a unique, fun Slurpee cup."

Slurpees purchased during BYO Cup Day will count as a punch on 7Rewards, the expanded customer loyalty platform that rewards customers with a free beverage for every six cups purchased through the 7-Eleven mobile app. If a customer already has six digital punches on their rewards card, they can redeem their free seventh drink at BYO Cup Day.

BYO Cup Day was previously held at 7-Eleven stores in Australia, Canada, the Philippines and Malaysia.
