C-Store Chains Team With Blockbuster
DALLAS -- Sixteen new retailers have signed distribution agreements to sell Blockbuster GiftCards in more than 16,000 locations before the end of the year, including convenience store operators 7-Eleven, Wawa, ChevronTexaco, Mapco Express, Speedway, Town & Country and Valero-Diamond Shamrock.
"Particularly in the grocery, convenience, gas and drugstore categories, retailers are looking for ways to serve as many of their customers' shopping needs as they can while they have them in store," said Lori Milne, director of account development at Blockbuster. "GiftCards offer a great convenience for consumers, enabling them to shop for the holidays and special occasions when they run in to pick up a gallon of milk, and they're a significant incremental revenue opportunity for retailers."
The new non-denominated and occasion-themed Thank You, Happy Birthday and Congratulations GiftCards enable the consumer to assign any value from $5 to $500 to the cards at checkout.
