Canadian Tire and Gilbarco Veeder-Root Renew Agreement

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Canadian Tire Corp. Limited and Gilbarco Veeder-Root have renewed their agreement, making way for Gilbarco's FlexPay EMV solution to be installed at the retailer’s 289 gasoline outlets in Canada. The company selected Gilbarco's Encore S dispensers and retrofit kits to meet Europay, Mastercard and Visa (EMV) compliance.

"We are confident in our decision to partner with Gilbarco Veeder-Root to achieve EMV compliance and protect our customers," said Andrea Ongaro, divisional vice president of petroleum operations and business development with Canadian Tire. "In search of a partner with a flexible solution, proven field experience and a customer-friendly user experience, we found Gilbarco to be the only provider able to meet all of our requirements."

FlexPay EMV CRIND provides full security for both debit and credit card transactions, factory-installed on Gilbarco's new Encore S dispensers as well as a retrofit to existing dispensers, according to the supplier. Gilbarco also reported that it has installed more than 90 percent of Canada's EMV-capable forecourt payment points.
