Car-Go Express Turns 10
CHEROKEE, Iowa -- Last week, the Washta-based Car-Go Express Store kicked off a three-day celebration in honor of its tenth anniversary.
The festivities began with a live broadcast on the local KCHE radio station. Attendees were welcomed by a plethora of food offerings including the famed "hogs-in-a-quilt" (hot dogs and cheese wrapped in pizza dough), free pastry puff samples, discounts on appetizers, king-sized Bing candy bars and Little Debbie boxed snacks. Half-priced fountain drinks and two-for-one movie rentals were also offered.
In addition, customers were treated to a free barbecue complete with grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, beans and chips. To keep the atmosphere festive, the company held hourly drawings for a wide variety of prizes that will include caps and t-shirts. Grand prize winners received a free $50 dollar fuel fill-up.
