David J. O'Reilly (pictured), chairman and chief executive of ChevronTexaco Corp., has been elected chairman of the American Petroleum Institute (API), effective Jan. 1, 2003. Claiborne P. Deming, president and CEO of Murphy Oil Corp., El Dorado, Ark., was elected API's treasurer, also effective Jan. 1. Both have been elected to one-year terms.

A Doctor in the House
Exxon Mobil Corp. elected Dr. Henry A. McKinnell to its board of directors. McKinnell is chairman and chief executive of Pfizer Inc.

Team Players
7-Eleven Inc., Dallas, added three executives to its management team:
* Russ Klein, managing director of marketing;
* Robin Michel, managing director of merchandising; and
* Jay Giesen, managing director of Vcom.

Fed Watch
ChevronTexaco Corp. named Patricia E. Yarrington vice president of public and government affairs, effective November 1. The San Francisco-based oil company also promoted Charles A. James to vice president and general counsel. He succeeds Harvey D. Hinman, who announced his retirement last month.

Bigger Board
Thomas M. Murnane has been elected to The Pantry Inc.'s board of directors. The addition of Murnane, a recently retired partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, expands the Sanford, N.C.-based company's board to nine members and increases the board's independent membership.

Geoff Murphy has been named president of St. Paul-based Old HomeFoods, a distributor f specialty cultured dairy products. He had been serving as chief operating officer.

Miller Brewing Co., Milwaukee, appointed Gavin Hattersley its senior vice president of finance.

David Faulk, the sports super agent that represented star athletes such as Michael Jordan and Patrick Ewing, joined the advisory board of Extreme Beverage Co. LLC.

A New Beginning
Just Born Inc., manufacturer of candy brands such as Mike and Ike and Peeps, promoted John Leipold to vice president of sales and customer logistics. Matthew Petronio also joined the Bethlehem, Pa.-based company as vice president of marketing.

Aurora Foods Inc., a St. Louis-based foodservice operator, named Eric Brenk senior vice president of operations. He succeeds Douglas Sherman, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.

PDQ Manufacturing promoted Mike Savignac to vice president of sales and marketing.

Independent national convenience store broker, TNT Marketing, recently added five employees to its team:
* Todd Ginley, account executive;

The Monarch Beverage Co. Inc., an international beverage company based in Atlanta, appointed Kevin McClanahan as chief operating officer of its U.S. subsidiary and Dave Thompson as vice president of national accounts.

Scott Almsberger was named vice president of operations for Kansas City, Mo.-based XIKAR Inc., a designer of premium cigar cutters.
