Casey's Expands Pizza Delivery to Five More Iowa Towns
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Casey's General Stores has expanded its pilot pizza delivery service to stores in Waverly, Adel, Carroll, Eldridge and Nevada, Iowa, according to a Des Moines Register report.
The trial program debuted in April and was initially limited to its store in Grimes, Iowa, as CSNews Online previously reported.
"We're choosing locations where we have no, or very limited, overlap with other Casey's stores that sell pizza," said Bill Walljasper, the company’s CFO. He noted that the company is also taking a careful look at competition beyond c-stores."For example, I don't think there's any pizza delivery in Adel," he added.
The pizza delivery will be available from 4:30 to 10 p.m.
Casey's was the first convenience store chain to offer pizza in 1984, according to the report. If the program is successful, it could become a feature in more Casey's locations.
"Hopefully, these stores will do well and we'll expand it even further by the end of the year," Walljasper said.
