Casey's General Stores to Sell Celsius
ANKENY, Iowa -- Casey's General Stores, which operates more than 1,400 convenience stores throughout the Midwest, will carry three flavors of the calorie-burning beverage Celsius -- Green Tea Raspberry Acai, sparkling Orange and Wild Berry -- in its coolers, according to an announcement by Celsius Holdings Inc.
Celsius, marketed as "the Original Calorie Burner," is intended to be a healthy, everyday refreshment that tastes great. Celsius has been scientifically shown to burn up to 100 calories or more per can by raising metabolism and providing sustained energy, according to the company. Research demonstrated that consuming one Celsius prior to a workout may enhance the benefits of regular exercise, such as cardio fitness, endurance and body composition, the company said.
Celsius contains no sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, aspartame, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, and is very low in sodium. Celsius is powered by a proprietary blend of ingredients MetaPlus, which includes green tea with EGCG, ginger, caffeine, calcium, chromium, B vitamins and vitamin C, according to the beverage company.
"We are excited to have Casey's General Stores offer Celsius to its customers," stated Kelly Michols, vice president of strategic sales at Celsius. "Casey's culture encourages a friendly relationship between store managers and their customers as they are often located in small communities. This works well for Celsius as it is a fun product that people love to talk about and share with their friends."
